There are ten garages in Torre del Mar covering general mechanics, electrics, tyres and bodywork.
Before you leave the car
- A written quote before anything is touched. It is your right, and it is what prevents the argument at collection, particularly when a second fault appears.
- Ask whether they work on your make. Several garages here specialise. Taking a car to somebody who does not see that model often stretches both the diagnosis and the bill.
The ITV
Spain's roadworthiness test is called the ITV and it is compulsory. The nearest test centre is not in Torre del Mar, so factor in the trip if your date is close. Many local garages will prepare the car beforehand, which is worth doing rather than failing and going twice.
