Five workshops in and around Torre del Mar make, fit and repair terrace and balcony awnings, roller shutters, fly screens and signage, based in the town itself and in El Tomillar and Los Toscanos.

Ask the community of owners first

This is the step people skip. In a block of flats the exterior of the building is common property, and communities normally fix the colour, the model and sometimes the fitting for awnings so the facade stays uniform. Order first and you can be told to take it down. A quick look at the community's rules or a call to the administrator saves the whole problem.

The wind decides which awning you want

The poniente gets up in the afternoon along this coast, and an awning that is wrong for it will not last a season. Ask the workshop about wind resistance and about automatic retraction, which is what actually protects the thing when nobody is at home.

Repairing the strap or the mechanism of a persiana is everyday work for these workshops, and it is a repair, not a replacement, far more often than people assume.
