Before you sit in the chair

• Get a written quote and ask what it includes. In implants and orthodontics the headline price is rarely the final one, and the difference usually sits in the crown, the check-ups and the X-rays.
• Check who controls their own website. Three of the nine are franchises that only appear on their brand's corporate site, so the information about the actual local clinic depends on head office rather than on the people treating you.
• For children, ask about the public dental programme. Andalusian public health covers children's dental care through participating practices, and not every private clinic takes part.
