Eating out
Ice cream
There are ten ice cream parlours in Torre del Mar, and four of them sit within a few metres of each other on Paseo de Larios, the pedestrian street running down to the sea. That is the densest competition of any trade in town.
Two traditions, not one
Italian gelato on one side, and on the other the Alicante tradition this coast inherited: horchata, a chilled tiger nut drink, and granizado, crushed fruit ice. They are not the same thing and both are worth trying. The listing for each place says which it does.
Practical
Six of the ten hold above 4.4 and none falls below 4.1, which tells you the competition keeps standards up. From about eight in the evening in August the promenade fills, so if you are with children, go earlier.
