Ice cream
Sicilia Gelati
Sicilia Gelati occupies number 1 of the Paseo de Larios, the corner where the pedestrian street begins, so it catches everyone entering and everyone coming back up from the beach. It shares the top rating of the town with one other house, a 4.9.
The proposal here is Italian rather than Spanish. Gelato made in house, denser and colder than the local style, and a flavour list that its customers rate very highly. If you have eaten your way through Italy this is the register you already know, and it is done properly.
My own suggestion is to treat this and the artisan houses further down the same street as two different things rather than competitors. Gelato at the top, Spanish artisan ice cream at the bottom, one on each pass. In August the queue at both moves faster than it looks.
