Water sports here organise around two points, and only one of them is in town.
The sailing club
The Club Náutico sits on the promenade itself and its building is listed as an asset of cultural interest, which is unusual for a sports club. It is the base for sailing and sea activities.
The moorings are elsewhere
Torre del Mar has no marina of its own. Anything needing a berth operates from Caleta de Vélez, about three kilometres east, which is the only marina on this stretch of coast.
The wind decides
The poniente, the westerly, is what determines whether boats go out, and on this coast it often gets up in the afternoon. Worth checking before booking anything on the water. If the sea does not cooperate, the municipal pool is indoors and open all year.
