Chiringuito Casa Miguel

Casa Miguel is on Calle San Andres, in the neighbourhood of the same name, on the western side of the beach. It is one of the places locals name without thinking when you ask where to eat fried fish, and its review count, above three thousand, backs that up.

It works as a beach bar and restaurant at once, and it is busy. The rating of 4.1 is the honest consequence: a house that turns tables fast at midday in August will always collect a few complaints about the wait that a quiet terrace never gets. I would not read that number as a verdict on the kitchen.

Go at the start of the lunch service rather than the middle of it, and confirm the hours if you are here outside the beach season, because the rhythm of these places follows the summer. The espeto and the fried fish are the reason to come, and both are done the way this coast has always done them.
