Camping Laguna Playa

This is the only campsite in Torre del Mar, and I say that having checked: searching for other names on the map ends up here every time. It sits on the far end of the promenade, fifty metres from the water and about four hundred from the old centre, on a wooded plot of more than twenty thousand square metres.

There are 143 pitches in two sizes, all with an electric hook up and real shade, plus 17 bungalows for people who would rather not sleep under canvas. The rating is a 4.1 over more than eighteen hundred reviews, and no other place to stay in this town is judged by that many people.

Why this campsite works better than most

Two things, and both matter more than the facilities list. The shade is mature, which on this coast in July is the difference between a pitch you can use at four in the afternoon and one you cannot. And you are inside the town, so you walk to the market, the pharmacy and the promenade instead of driving. If you are touring Andalusia in a camper and want a base for a few days rather than one night, this is the stop I would plan around.
