The taxi covers what walking and the bus do not: airport transfers, trips around the Axarquía and getting home at night.
How to get one
There are ranks in the centre, and you can call the radio taxi on 952 540 016. Several services run 24 hours, and there are larger vehicles for groups and families, which have to be requested when you book.
Three things worth doing
- For an early flight, arrange it the night before. There is no direct bus to Málaga airport, some 40 km away, so at that hour the taxi is usually the only sensible option.
- Ask for a large vehicle in advance if there are more than four of you. In high season they are not always free at short notice.
- During the fair and the festivals, expect to wait. Those are the weekends when the town overflows, and also when a taxi beats driving around looking for a parking space.
