The price on the window is not the price of a licence

Getting a licence in Spain is billed in parts, and the sign outside a school rarely shows all of them: the enrolment, the theory course and test material, each practical lesson individually, and the administration's own examination fees, which the school passes on and does not keep.

Ask any school for the realistic total for somebody starting from zero, including the number of lessons most of their pupils actually take, and ask what a re sit costs. Comparing schools on the enrolment fee alone is how people end up surprised. The difference between the cheapest and the dearest in this town is much smaller once you compare the whole thing.
