Twelve pizzerias and Italian restaurants in Torre del Mar carry a public rating, with more than 12,000 reviews between them. For a town of this size that is a remarkably deep trade, and the competition at the top is genuine.
The busiest is not the best rated
The most reviewed pizzeria in town holds more than 3,800 opinions and a 4.2, and it does not appear in the top three. The leaders hold ratings between 4.6 and 4.8 on several hundred to fifteen hundred reviews each. Both things are true at once: one place feeds far more people, the others please a higher share of them.
Pizzeria and Italian restaurant are not the same visit
Several of the highest placed here are proper Italian kitchens doing fresh pasta rather than pizzerias with a delivery moped, and a couple are run by Italians. The individual listings say which is which, and it changes both the price and the wait.
Delivery
This is the trade that delivers most in Torre del Mar, along with Asian food and burgers. In August and at weekends allow more time: the same kitchen is serving its dining room, and the delivery orders are what slips.
