Best perfume shops
Four perfume and cosmetics shops in Torre del Mar carry a public rating. The table is a textbook case of the pattern that repeats across this whole directory, and here it is unusually stark.
The chain has the volume and the lowest rating
A branch of a large Spanish chain carries 105 reviews at 3.5, more than twice the volume of anyone else and the lowest score in the trade. The two small independents at the top hold 4.9 on around twenty opinions each. That is the difference between a busy self service shop and a counter where somebody serves you, measured by people in different moods. Neither number is wrong.
Perfume by decanting is a normal trade here
Alongside branded perfumery, Spain has a well established trade in perfumes a granel, scent sold by the millilitre, and in equivalence ranges. It is cheaper and it is sold openly as what it is, not as a copy of a brand. One of the shops at the top of this table works that way.
One seasonal note
Sun protection is what people come in for in July and August, and buying it here rather than at the beach kiosk is the sort of small decision that adds up over a fortnight.
